“Skateboarding Photo is an online magazine dedicated to presenting images and words from emerging, as well as established, skaters / photographers / writers / artists and brands.

By promoting the independent nature of skateboarding, focusing on what’s happening just outside of (and often well below) the mainstream, it aims to provide a collaborative platform that encourages high quality contributions from the UK, as well as worldwide, skate community.”

Marcus Payne | Handplant |В Pic:В Harvey Mills

As well as being a mate, Marcus is a phenomenal skater, and always has a bagful of tricks up his sleeve. In fact, he’s got so many that he often forgets just what he can do. Tricks from years ago become replaced with newer ones and the old ones are relegated to the dusty recesses of the past. Every so often, Marcus will say something like, “Oh yeah, I used to have them down!”. And so it was, we were pissing about down our shitty local park on Hayling Island one beautiful late summer evening, and Marcus starts busting out inverts on a quarter pipe. We managed to get the keeper just as the sun was sinking behind the beach huts, and he plants it smack between the shadows.
