‘We chose this because there is a real feeling of joy about this photograph: just a skater, out on his own, doing his thing on a late sunny afternoon. The composition is incredible, and the shadow is to die for. As soon as we saw it, we knew that it had to be our cover! It’s also very reminiscent of some of Grant Brittain’s work – especially the ‘Tod Swank’ pic of him pushing into the shadow, shot in Del Mar. Check out the similarities in Grants interview with us later in this issue. Oh, didn’t I mention? We’ve interviewed the great man, just for you! Thanks for sharing, Renato!’
